When viewing either an account window or a journal entry window, you can sort the items by clicking on the column header buttons. The sequence alternates between ascending and descending with each succesive click.
Note that sequencing by date runs from the first month of your fiscal year, not from calendar month 1. If your year runs from the April of one calendar year to March of the next, then the date sequence will reflect this.
